The IRA Cheat Sheet for 2013

We're just a month away from the mid-year point, believe it or not.  As a half-time refresher of sorts, I wanted to share some information on all things IRA.  The following infographic from Max Retire Rules covers the high-points on the four types of IRA - Roth, Traditional, Simple, and SEP

The nice thing about this piece is that in addition to covering the basics of how each IRA functions, there is also updated limit information for 2013.  This can come in handy as you contemplate your contributions now or in the future for the 2013 tax year.

Hiring Interns: Great resource but not free

Interns are a great resource for a company. They are generally thirsty for knowledge, willing to work hard to prove themselves, and oh yes, willing to work for cheap or even nothing. At least I was when I was in law school. Although the intern might be willing to work for nothing that doesn’t mean a “for profit” business doesn’t have to pay him or her.

Nonprofit: To Join or Not to Join, That is the Question

Recently, I was asked to join the Board of Directors for my fraternity’s Alumni Board to serve as its legal advisor. I was eager to participate so my immediate response was “yes”.
